There are 3 national
credit reporting bureaus. Some creditors report consumer
activity to all 3 bureaus, while other creditors report
to just one. Some entities may not report your credit
activity at all. Before making an important financial
decision such as buying a house or car, it is wise to
review your credit report in advance. This will allow
you time to resolve any outstanding issues before you
request credit be extended. Additionally, many feel
it is wise to examine their credit report prior to applying
for a job or insurance.
There are different types of reports, all the way from
a single report reflecting only that repository's data,
all the way to a tri-merged, 3-bureau report complete
with credit score. A CCCS counselor can help you evaluate
which report is appropriate for you. |
